Prophecies Concerning Messiah,
the Christ
- Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be the ruler in Israel.
- Born of a Virgin (Isaiah 7:14)
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign; Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
- Declared the Son of God. (Psalm 2:7)
I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to me, You are My Son, today I have begotten you.
- Rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9)
rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, Behold, your King is coming to you, He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
- Rejected by His own people. (Isaiah 53:3)
He is despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and
acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; he was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
- Crucified with robbers. (Isaiah 53:12)
He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
- Resurrected. (Psalm 16:10)
For you will not leave my soul in
sheol, nor will you allow your holy One to see corruption.
- Ascended to heaven (Psalm 68:18)
You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have
received gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God might dwell there.
- His return. (John 14:2-3)
In My Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that were I am ye may be also.
- His Judgment over the earth. (Matthew 25:31-32)
When the Son of Man shall come in his glory, and all the, holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the Throne of His Glory; and before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.
- The Millennial reign of Christ. (Revelation 20:4)
And I saw thrones and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them, and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the Word of God, and which had not worshiped the Beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark uopn their foreheads, or in their hands: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
